The Tale of Two Margarets: Interlude - Pictured, Not Pictured

It's hard for me to believe that one week ago, my Sunday morning looked like this. The theme of these pictures?

Blue skies. Every day.

Heading from San Francisco to Napa.

First stop: Nicholson Ranch.

Lunch break, Pacific Blue.

I never got used to the juxtaposition of cypress and palm trees.

Venturing down Pier 39, a tad bewildered by the deafening noise of dozens of sea lions.

Beautiful majesty in Golden Gate Park.

Favorite winery: Viansa.

Coming back from the second trip to Napa at sunset.

Not pictured:

1. The vastness of the Pacific as seen from Twin Peaks. The afternoon sun blinding it in intensity, the horizon line curved and blurred with a heavy offshore mist.

2. Ten pigeons going to town on a half-eaten birthday cake that someone discarded on the sidewalk. That was scary.

3. Monday and Wednesday morning's runs along the San Francisco Bay Trail. Less than a mile from our hotel, this path along the shore yielded stunning views of the sun as it rose over the hills to the east. The water smooth as glass and perfectly reflecting the sky, the birds, the boats, the sun as she rose.
